- OK, I've seen many people talk about getting xwindemo to use in combination
- with WinSock/SLIP, and it seems that they have all heard that it works, but
- I haven't seen anyone personally vouch for it...So I am hoping someone who
- has seen the light can tell me what's up with this:
- I have Trumpet Winsock running fine; I've messed with the packet lengths
- and stuff but I am having a consistent problem with XWinDemo. (Other
- programs such as ftp and Mosaic work perfectly) I am making the connection
- to a remote X server and I know that it is logging me in as well as starting
- an actual xterm, however nothing ever really shows up except for a disconnect
- notice a few minutes later.
- When I turned on the "debugging" switches in Winsock, I noticed that
- repeatedly (like every 3 or 4 seconds) an error message would appear that
- said "IP Address Checksum Invalid" (or close to that). A friend of mine was
- helping me at another terminal so he was able to verify that I was actually
- logging in and that the xterm was starting. For some reason, though, xwindemo
- wasn't acknowledging it. I can consistently reproduce (and hardcopy) the error
- results in case anyone would like to look at them...
- Please send me mail if you have a possible fix for this. Thanks in advance!
